Haulover Park & Beach is a dog-friendly haven. Situated across the Haulover Inlet from Bal Harbour, it spans roughly two miles of beachfront with an adjacent park overlooking Biscayne Bay. Dogs are permitted off-leash on the beach with their owners between lifeguard towers 2 and 3.
This is Hobie Island Beach Park, a popular destination for Miami’s local kite surfers, windsurfers, kayakers and paddleboarders. It’s also a dog-friendly beach where your pup can run off-leash, splash in the surf and socialize freely with other dogs.
In South Beach, dogs are welcome on the beach at 21st Street from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. November through March and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. April through October. During these times, dogs can roam free off-leash in designated areas, but owners must carry a leash at all times.
The beach at 81st Street in North Beach, lovingly referred to as Bark Beach, is Miami Beach’s original dog-friendly beach. It welcomes dogs off-leash in designated areas from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. November through March and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. April through October. On Friday through Sunday, it also allows dogs in the afternoon, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. November through February and from 3 to 7 p.m. March through October.
Amidst all this is a spacious two-acre dog park where pets can roam free off-leash, climb on fun play equipment and cool off in the shade. There are plenty of seating areas, so you can sit back and watch your pup have a blast.
Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah spans over 500 acres with countless diversions and activities, from a water sports complex for wakeboarding to a petting zoo and trails for mountain biking. It’s also home to a five-acre dog park separated into a small and large dog run with washing and grooming areas, doggy swimming pools and an obstacle course.
Located across the street from Miami Springs High School, the Miami Springs Dog Park is a wonderful destination for you and your dog. The shaded grassy park in Miami Springsfeatures separate fenced areas for small and large dogs and ample benches where owners can relax and watch all the fun.
Miami Beach’s Beachwalk is a paved oceanfront path that connects the entire length of Miami Beach. Occupying nearly half of Key Biscayne, Crandon Park is an oasis with shady walking trails perfect for a leisurely dog walk.

Simpson Park is a lush nature preserve and tropical hammock offering a tranquil retreat, perfect for strolling with your four-legged best friend. It’s close to a beautiful residential expanse of South Miami Avenue, which makes for another lovely walk, especially at sunset.
